When should I book?

The Booking calendar opens to the public about 1-1/2 years out. We recommend contacting us as early as possible to maximize venue availability. Booking timelines vary based on the type and complexity of your event.

Can I tour the venue before booking?

Yes. We encourage prospective clients to schedule a tour to explore our venues and discuss the needs of their event with a member of our Rentals team. Tours are by appointment.

Do I need to complete a rental application?

First-time renters are asked to complete a rental application and provide references before we begin the estimate process.

Can you hold my preferred date?

Can you hold my preferred date?

Yes. Once your rental application has been received, we can place a complimentary, no obligation on your requested date while we prepare your event estimate.

What is included in the rental fee?

Rental fees vary depending on the venue, event type, and services required. Your customized estimate will outline venue rental, staffing, production services, and any additional venue-related costs.

Is Security Required?

Yes. Security is required for all events. Security staffing levels and associated costs are determined based on the venue, anticipated attendance, event duration, and the nature of the event.

If you wish to supplement venue security with private security personnel or off-duty law enforcement officers, all requests must be approved in advance. Approved supplemental personnel must coordinate with and operate under the direction of Kentucky Performing Arts' security team and do not replace the venue's required security staffing.

Are tables and chairs included?

Table and chair availability varies by venue. The Kentucky Center and The Brown Theatre offer a selection of tables and chairs for complimentary use, subject to availability. If additional inventory is needed, rental furniture can be arranged at an additional cost.

Old Forester's Paristown Hall offers chairs for use on the main floor for a transportation and setup fee. If your event requires additional tables, chairs, or other rental furnishings, our team can coordinate those rentals on your behalf.

Are production services included?

Every event has unique production needs. Our Production team will work directly with your technical representative to determine the staffing, equipment, and support required for your event.

Do I have to use Kentucky Performing Arts' Ticketing services?

Yes. Public ticketed events presented at Kentucky Performing Arts venues are required to use Kentucky Performing Arts' ticketing services. Our Rentals team will explain the ticketing process, timelines and fees during the booking process.

What Insurance is required?

Renters are required to carry general liability insurance that meets Kentucky Performing Arts' insurance requirements and names Kentucky Performing Arts as an additional insured. Proof of coverage must be provided prior to your event.

If your organization has paid employees or contractors working at the event, Kentucky law also requires workers' compensation coverage.

If you do not have the required general liability coverage, Kentucky Performing Arts can purchase a Tenant User Liability Insurance Policy (TULIP) on your behalf, with the cost billed to the rental client. Our Rentals team can provide additional information and assist you with this process.

Can I bring in my own caterer?

Kentucky Performing Arts partners exclusively with Curved Apron Hospitality powered by Levy , our in-house food and beverage provider, for all catered events. Curved Apron's culinary team will work directly with you to develop a customized menu and service plan. Catering services are contracted and billed separately from your venue rental.

Is parking available?

Parking options are available near our venues. Our team can provide recommendations based on your event location and anticipated attendance.

Are your venues ADA accessible?

Yes. Kentucky Performing Arts is committed to providing accessible venues and services for guests and event organizers. Please let us know about any accessibility needs during the planning process.
