GSA 2027 starts HERE!
It's that time of year again - GSA is looking for current Kentucky high school sophomores and juniors with skill in their artform, passion for creativity, an open mind, collaborative spirit, and an eagerness for learning. Does this sound like a student you know? If so, please encourage them to apply for GSA this fall.
The Governor's School for the Arts seeks and welcomes applicants of all identities, regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, mental and physical health/ability, language, hometown, high school, religious belief, or cultural background.

Coming Soon - 2027 Applicant Guides and Application Portal
The GSA 2027 Applicant Guides and Application Portal will be posted on October 2, 2026. Each artform will have its own applicant guide, which describes the entire application/audition process and criteria from start to finish. We will also open the application portal via Acceptd for students to begin uploading their materials.

Below, you'll find links to the GSA 2026 Applicant Guides.These guides include the application requirements for each of the ten artforms offered at GSA's 2026 summer program. Some of the requirements and guidelines will change for this year's application cycle.
To be clear, these are resources from last year's application cycle that are posted only for your reference. These guides should NOT be used for your GSA 2027 application, only to give you an idea of the application requirements for each artform. Certain details of the program and application process WILL change for 2027.
Request An Info Session
Requests for GSA info sessions are considered on a rolling basis. Generally, info sessions are scheduled in the window of late September to mid-December.
If there are multiple arts teachers or classes at your school/organization, please coordinate with those areas to ensure this presentation reaches as many students as possible. This includes any teachers/students who work with visual arts, film, photography, creative writing, drama, choir/vocal music, instrumental music (band, orchestra, etc.), and dance.

Due to limited administrative capacity, GSA may need to prioritize virtual info session requests and we may not be able to accommodate your request. That said, we hope you will connect with the virtual info sessions linked above, and you are encouraged to contact us with questions/ideas/concerns at gsainfo@kentuckyperformingarts.org. GSA will confirm whether your request can be accommodated, either way.
