Kentucky Author Forum 30th Anniversary Season

ANDY BESHEAR has served as Governor of Kentucky since 2019. Previously he was the state’s Attorney General. Beshear is the grandson of a Baptist lay minister, the son of a previous Kentucky governor, and a leading Democratic voice. In Go and Do Likewise: How We Heal a Broken Country, Beshear shares what his own faith has meant to him, and how it has informed his family and public life. By regrounding faith in compassion and kindness, Beshear believes we can start to heal as a country. Whether through organized religion or simply the golden rule, his book is a reminder of the values that can truly unite us.

MAUREEN DOWD is a columnist for The New York Times Opinion pages and a feature writer for The Times’ Style and Arts & Leisure sections. She won the Pulitzer Prize in 1999 in the commentary category. Dowd has covered ten presidential campaigns and served as White House correspondent during the first Bush administration and the Clinton administration. Her best-selling books include Bushworld, Are Men Necessary?, and The Year of Voting Dangerously. She was a guest of Kentucky Author Forum in 2025 with her latest book, Notorious: Portraits of Stars from Hollywood, Culture, Fashion and Tech.

Mary Moss Greenebaum is the founder and producer of Kentucky Author Forum.
